“From my point of view, your life is already a miracle of chance waiting for you to shape its destiny” – Toni Morrison

Angela A. Blesi loves to paint! In early 2000 after retiring from a career as a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines, she discovered the world of art at Avalon Arts in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Having no formal art training, Angela had the desire to become more creative in her life. Meeting and taking painting lessons from a variety of Twin Cities artists, such as Michaelin Otis, Irene Howe, Susan Voight, Mike Judy, Ann Tristani, Marc Hanson and the late Bob Straube, her creativity started to take off.

In 2005 Angela met Kami Mendlik and Mary Pettis, both nationally and internationally recognized artists. Angela was invited to travel to Tuscany Italy and painted in the hills of Vagaglia on the estate of a 96 year old Contessa. Following this trip, Angela participated in a fabulous art show at the Stillwater Art Guild. The evening was magical, paintings were sold and friendships blossomed.

In 2005 Angela received a Merit Award at the Artists of America Spring Show in Stillwater Minnesota for her painting “The Secret Stream”. She enjoys continuing her journey as a painter and continues to take classes from artists Dan Mackerman, Patricia Duncan and Stephen Wysocki. Angela believes: “Once you start seeing the world as a painter, you continue to see colors, shapes, shadows and edges in a creative way!”
